It was overwhelming to witness the outpour of entries for GLITZ Design Honour Awards 2021 For Creative Excellence in Architecture and Interiors. Following the first jury meet, we are extremely pleased to announce the Finalist entries in this issue. Congratulations and best wishes to all the shortlisted designers for the further process. For this month’s cover, we are delighted to feature the design of a private retreat that proves to be an epitome of sustainability. Nestling amid greenery, as designed by The Grid Architects, each corner of Rock House at Ahmedabad is a celebration of local craftsmanship and nature views. Coffee House New Town at Kolkata, designed by Architect Tamal Chaudhuri & Associates, features an expansive central volume decorated with colonial elements and artistic accents over a classic-contemporary theme. Manoj Patel Design Studio employs rich materials, a muted colour scheme and contextual design to craft the characterful Pink Cube House in Vadodara. For the One ICC home in Parel, Hipcouch’s Ridhi Agarwal was cognisant of their client’s special needs, and designed it such that the senior citizens always felt cared for and at peace. Khushboo Kakkar, with the BASICS Studio team, has created a warm urban home, with handcrafted Indian details set against a modern landscape at the Oak Villa in Raipur. Place Design Studio blends natural aesthetics with Indian textures to create a contemporary apartment that is both spacious and soothing at Eon Waterfront, Pune. Perched in lush vegetation of Uttarakhand at a luxury homestay, the mini golf course designed by Ar. Aashish Vaishnava is thoughtfully crafted to serve its purpose. Hope you savour this issue!
