1953 ഒക്ടോബർ മാസത്തിൽ 'സെറാഫിക് റിപ്പോർട്ടർ' എന്ന പേരിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച ഒരു ചെറുബുള്ളറ്റിൻ ആണ് 1956-ൽ 'അസ്സീസി മാസിക' എന്ന നാമധേയം സ്വീകരിച്ച് നാളിതുവരെ കേരളത്തിൻറെ സാംസ്കാരിക മണ്ഡലത്തിൽ യേശുവിൻറെയും അസ്സീസിയിലെ ഫ്രാൻസീസിൻറെയും മാനവികസന്ദേശത്തിൻറെ ജിഹ്വയായി വർത്തിക്കുന്നത്. കാലത്തിൻറെ ചുവരെഴുത്തുകൾ വായിച്ച് ധാർമ്മിക നിലപാടുകൾ ഉറപ്പിക്കാൻ 'അസ്സീസി' എക്കാലവും ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആധുനിക മനുഷ്യൻറെ മനസ്സിനോടും മസ്തിഷ്കത്തോടും ചേർന്നുനിന്ന് അവൻറെ/അവളുടെ ജീവിതപ്രശ്നങ്ങളോട് ക്രിസ്തു ദർശനത്തിൻറെ സമഗ്രതയിൽ സംവദിക്കാനും അവർക്കു സഹയാത്രികയാകാനും 'അസ്സീസി' ബദ്ധശ്രദ്ധയാണ്.
