January is the month which is dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus and in his first Editorial of the New Year, Fr John Walsh encourages us to ‘turn every swear into a prayer’. Sadly, in Ireland the name of our Saviour is frequently used in conversation by people who have no faith or respect; we can reverse this by saying “Jesus, I love you”, whenever we hear his name used in this manner. In two insightful articles, Fr Conor McDonough and Fr Shane Crombie explain more about this devotion, its history and meaning.
