I dette nummeret

On 1 October we celebrate the feast day of St Therese of Lisieux, the Patroness of the Missions. She is featured on p4 of our magazine, while p13 is devoted to World Mission Sunday, observed this year on the 24th of the month. This is a powerful annual reminder to us that we must be bearers of the faith to people on our doorstep and all others who cross our path in life. Many of our older readers will fondly recall the romantic novelist, Annie M.P.Smithson. John Gallagher writes about this extraordinary lady and Margaret Smith tells us about another exemplary woman, Sr Sara Salkahazi the Hungarian heroine, executed by the Nazis for her part in rescuing Jews during World War II. Patricia Hope continues her series on Advertising in Echoes and in Lectio Divina Brendan Clifford OP considers the Cushite Woman and the lessons to be learned from her story. Donagh O’Shea OP examines envy, that little green devil and John Scally looks at the fascinating spirituality of the Celtic Christians. On Supporters’ Page find out about the new Prior Provincial, Fr John Harris and our ‘Celebration of Life’ Mass to be offered on 3rd October in St Saviour's, Dublin, for all who passed away during the Pandemic. Finally, don’t forget to check out our lovely St Martin gifts as we look forward to his feast day on 3 November.

St Martin Magazine Description:

St Martin Apostolate has published our monthly St. Martin Magazine in Ireland since 1952. A wonderful magazine for Catholics around the world. Our magazine is packed with articles to help develop your understanding and your faith.

Included are articles on all aspects of life, news and views on important world events, helpful tips and articles for life, home and the garden. In short, it is a worthwhile easy-to-read magazine that millions of readers have enjoyed over the past decades.

We publish the magazine to promote devotion to St. Martin, to encourage people in the practice of their faith and to generate funds for our mission of bringing the word of God to as many people as possible. We currently publish some 40,000 print copies every month - that's nearly half a million copies every year - and are excited about the reach of our digital version across the world - so please tell your friends and colleagues about its availability.
