Eau de Cologne has been around for a very long time (Napoleon used a bottle a day!) but did you know that it remains a secret formula which was originally developed by the Carthusian monks? Read more in Margaret Smith’s fascinating article. In It Happened This Month Henry Peel OP writes about the most beloved of all the popes, John XXIII, now a saint. Seamus Sloan in his very topical article, Who Should I Believe? warns us about the dangers of conspiracy theories and Donagh O’Shea, in An Evening Ritual advises us against being fooled by the notion of total freedom. Those of you who are cat lovers will be intrigued by Helen Morgan’s engaging piece about these fascinating creatures.
