Our Easter edition of the Saint Martin Magazine has a number of articles in keeping with the celebration of the Church’s most important feast. In ‘He Is Risen’ Fr John Harris looks at just why the Resurrection is so important. Frater Fiachra in ‘The Cloister Garden’ writes about the Madonna and the easter lilies and on the lighter side ‘Echoes’ traces the origin of chocolate which will be consumed a lot in the shape of eggs this month! Our famous convert from Judaism is Francis Libermann, the “Second Founder” of the Spiritan Order while Honoria Burke and Honoria Magaen are our Dominican martyrs. In ‘Evangelium’, Fr Kellan Scott OP looks at the story of Zacchaeus and Dom Aelred Magee OCSO takes us back to the crucifixion and the wider significance of Mary’s vigil at the foot of the cross. ‘Friends of St Martin’ features the special Mass said by Fr. Gerald Timoner, the Master of the Order of Preachers to celebrate the opening of 800 Jubilee of the Irish Dominicans in Ireland (1224-2024).
