This issue addresses the challenges confronting current systems of municipal governance in Canada and envisions new pathways for ensuring sustainable growth in the future. It explores developments in local governance through case studies and reflections on emerging policies and practices. Topics include inter-local cooperation, municipal boundary reform, local-provincial relationships, regional planning and alternative service agreements.
