Imagine a situation where a dispute arises between two partners in a business. In such an event, the dispute between them if not amicably resolved would prove disastrous for any potential future business interactions and their professional relationship. This is where Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods come into play, by offering parties an option to settle their disputes amicably rather than proceed to the court which would entail a lengthy and expensive process, which in return could also lead to the breaking down of their professional relationship. Amongst the several methods of ADR, mediation, in the recent years, has become increasingly popular. Mediation in its most basic sense has existed for hundreds or even thousands of years.
