I have spent the last two years of my life in Dubai, I am must admit, this city keeps surprising me with its mas- sive and speedy development. The areas, which a few months ago were filled with hot, desert sand, are now welcoming new residents in luxury villas. It’s incredible how fast buildings are being constructed in this city of wonders. I missed construction of the Burj Khalifa, but I’m glad I can watch the progress of another Dubai landmark: The Dubai Canal. It is going to transform Downtown, becoming yet another icon and incredible achievement for the city. We all know that big achievements require sacrifice. The problem we are facing, especially last week, is traffic jams on our main stretch of motorway. However, we should perhaps look at this as our contribution to the newest landmark’s success.
