It seems like we have just celebrated the beginning of 2016, and I am already cooking the March issue of the Middle East Car. It also looks like we have just closed the doors at the Dubai International Motor Show and now we are eagerly awaitingthe next door to open. Geneva International Motor Show is probably one of the most important automotive events in each petrolhead’s yearly calendar. Some of you might be lucky to be there, and the rest can just check out our website for live updates. We wouldn’t miss this event, so be sure you will be the  rst ones to see the pictures of the new Maserati Levante, Aston Martin DB11, new Bugatti Chiron Ferrari Lusso and many more. The world is changing, and it is changing very fast. You can no longer be certain that the building, which yesterday was just a two storey construction site, will not be a few  oors higher when you will leave for work tomorrow. The evolution of our landscape never stops. It is, however, good to know that some things in life are constant and will never change. One of them is Bentley Motors. This company might have changed owners once or twice, but you can be sure that its cars will remain as luxurious as is possible, and will always set benchmarks for oth- er brands that aspire to reach a similar level of exclusivity. I was more than happy to take a  ame orange,  agship, Bentley Mul- sanne out of its showroom misery for a few days, let it breathe a fresh winter air, and show it around Dubai’s landmarks. I must admit, I did receive notable attention. I was a little worried at  rst, as the Mulsanne is not only a  agship but also the size of a cruise-liner.

The end of the year is almost here, and soon we’ll be welcoming a brand new one. For those who love the festive season, the wait is over. For those who would rather avoid it, however… well, there’s always a New Year’s Eve celebration worth looking forward to. Though if that doesn’t grab you, surely a few days off work will.

It has been a big year for the UAE for sure. Just a few weeks ago we had a real treat for all you automobile fans. Dubai International Motor Show provided us with a large dose of adrenaline thanks to a record-breaking number of local and global launches, increased number of exhibition space and number of visitors, which surpassed the organiser’s expectations. We’d almost gotten our adrenaline levels back to normal, and then the roaring Formula 1 bolides brought it back to the extremes again. Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg showed us once more what this sport is all about going head to head to the last split second.

The end is in sight. The weather isn’t exactly cooling, but you know some semblance of normality will resume when the kids go back to school, freeing up your time on those rare weekdays without work to get back out on the road. If you’re childless, though, you’ll be rueing the impending loss of summer days, as school runs will inevitably jam up your favourite stretch of blacktop on the way to the office.
