Printing the Future Feast: Exploring the Magical World of 3D Food Printing

This method focuses on fabricating food by varying the amount of nutrients and printing materials. The food thus fabricated can be customized based on the requirement of the market with custom color, shape, nutritional value, etc. The food materials like glucose, sugar, chocolate, etc., are used to design a shape layer by layer.

Marketing has given rise to an increase in frosted patterns and carvings in food products like biscuits, and thus increasing demand for such products posed a time restriction to the food industries. Further, the need for individual nutrition has been widespread, with increasing health issues. Conventional Food Processing systems are not enough to cope with this goal. Thus the employment of 3D Food Printing or Food Layered manufacturing can be termed as a way to achieve the goal. It is a digitally controlled, robotic process (construction) that focuses on making complex food structures layer by layer. [1] It has sparked a cooking revolution by accurately combining, depositing, and cooking layers of ingredients, allowing users to effortlessly and quickly experiment with various material combinations. Food may be created and manufactured using this technology to satisfy individual demands in terms of health and physical activity by regulating the amount of printing material and nutrition content.

As illustrated, the Food Printing procedure starts by making a 3D model on the computer and then by using slicing software to slice the model into different layers and finally generates machine codes for printing. These codes are then further uploaded to the printer, and upon choosing a preferred recipe, the process of Food Printing commences.
