I applaud the move by the National Parks Board to review the Animals and Birds Act and the Code of Animal Welfare for the pet industry (NParks to review Animals and Birds Act, Code of Animal Welfare, Oct 27).
The recent spate of animal abuse cases and misconduct in the pet industry is deeply concerning.
Reviewing laws to protect animal welfare is timely and a crucial step forward.
