Acclaimed Filipino artist Skye Nicolas continues to innovate in the digital art landscape, with three of his "Quintessence" pieces acquired for the institutional collection of the Francisco Carolinum Linz Museum in Linz, Austria.

Skye Nicolas' 'Quintessence' Joins Esteemed European Museum Collection

"To be added to the Francisco Carolinum Linz Museum's institutional collection is more than recognition — it affirms an artist's place in art history," writes Anika Meier, critic, curator and art historian specializing in contemporary and digital art.

"For Skye Nicolas, this marks a defining moment, not just personally but for the Philippines, bringing national pride as digital art gains global recognition. With works from the 'Quintessence' series entering the museum's institutional collection, Nicolas' vision is preserved for future generations, solidifying his role in the ever-evolving discourse of contemporary art."

Starting with his 2023 solo exhibition, "Frequencies of Nostalgia" at Art Fair Philippines, where Nicholas was a star exhibitor with a monumental public art installation ("In Bloom") commissioned by Ayala Land, and was later showcased at the prestigious Art Düsseldorf fair in partnership with Danish luxury electronics house Bang & Olufsen.
