THE Centre has finally bitten the bullet on fuel prices as it slashed the excise duty on petrol by 8 per litre and on diesel by 6 with effect from Sunday. This is the second cut on central excise duty after November 2021 and it will reduce the price of petrol by 9.5 per litre and of diesel by ₹7 in Delhi.
The recent excise duty will cost the government around ₹1 lakh crore in revenue per year.
