Kanivu 108 ambulance squad rescues woman, newborn after roadside delivery

IN a heart-warming act of service, the Kanivu 108 ambulance team came to the rescue of a nomadic woman and her newborn after she delivered the baby on a roadside platform near Indira Gandhi stadium bus stand here on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 8.30 am when Sudha, 40, who had been living in a makeshift tent near the platform, gave birth to a baby girl. Local residents who noticed the woman lying on the platform after delivery quickly alerted the Kanivu 108 ambulance service for immediate assistance.
