KWA Begins Repair Work of Damaged Bridge Wall

The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) began the repair work on the protective wall of the Athikkayam bridge on Wednesday after it was damaged when water was released through an unused pipeline buried near the bridge.
The wall was built by Ranni residents after raising funds through public contributions.
The protective wall and approach road of the bridge on the Athikkayam Gurumandiram-Kadumeenchira road collapsed on Monday afternoon, days after the bridge was opened to the public.
The incident occurred after water was released through an underground pipeline that had been unused for almost 17 years.
