THE State has told the Durban Magistrate's Court that it intends to oppose bail for the two Ndimande brothers, who arrived in South Africa yesterday morning from Eswatini, should they apply for it.
The two brothers, Siyabonga Gezani and Malusi Dave, are charged with the murder of South African rapper Kiernan ‘AKA Forbes and his friend, chef Tebello “Tibz’ Motsoane.
The friends were shot dead at Durban’s Florida Road in February 2023 outside Wish Restaurant.
After abandoning their attempt to challenge their extradition from Eswatini at the end of October, the brothers were formally charged upon their arrival at King Shaka International Airport.
They were arrested in 2024 by the Royal Eswatini Police Service in Mbabane at a house they were renting.
The pair eventually appeared in court after more than two hours. It is understood that the delay was due to processing, including the collection of DNA swabs. Although they initially resisted, they ultimately complied with the process.
