Statue will tell tale of football legend Jack

THE 12ft tall statue of pioneering black footballer and Plymouth Argyle legend Jack Leslie will be unveiled outside Home Park on Friday, October 7.

Argyle will play Accrington Stanley at the Theatre of Greens the following day and it will be a chance for thousands of fans to see the monument to one of the club's all-time greats for the first time.

The game will be a tribute to Jack Leslie and will send out a message to celebrate and welcome diversity in sport and the community. More details of the event will be announced as the date approaches.

The unveiling ceremony will take place at noon on October 7 and a crowd of footballing dignitaries, sponsors of the fan-led project and supporters, as well as members of Jack Leslie's family, will gather for the big reveal.
