The club are seeking their first manager since January 2017 following the resignation of Lee Hobbs, who took the club from the South West Peninsula League to the Southern League Premier Division during his spell at the helm.
Over 30 applicants have expressed an interest in the vacancy with Russell keen to make an appointment soon, but not a rushed one, as he searches out his preferred candidate for the role.
"Some of the names that have been appearing in the inbox have been really exciting, to see the calibre of people that are applying for the job," Russell said. "We've got to make sure that we find the right person with the right mentality.
"It's difficult because whoever comes in has got to appreciate the time that is needed to play matches because, obviously, the travelling time and everything, it's a lot of time to take out on a Saturday or for midweek games, so it's the flexibility to be able to do that as well.
