THE owner of an eight-year-old chihuahua named Chico has demanded justice, after it was mauled to death by an English bull terrier.
Wayne Plummer was just one of a number of dog owners whose hounds were attacked by the dog over a number of weeks, according to police. PlymouthLive, The Herald's sister website, highlighted how the dog had targeted a miniature schnauzer earlier this month, ripping holes in its side and savaging the hands of the owner who was trying to keep it off his pet.
The daughter of the owner spoke to PlymouthLive and revealed how the terrier had attacked other dogs, including a chocolate labrador and she criticised police for failing to take action after that incident. She said that, as a result of the inaction, the dog continued its savage behaviour, killing a chihuahua before the owner disclaimed it to police.
Police later confirmed that they had been called to an incident in Grenville Road, Prince Rock, at 11.40pm on May 15 to "reports of a dog dangerously out of control".
