A PLYMOUTH mother is refusing to pay a parking ticket issued after her car was moved so her daughter could be taken to hospital.
Lauren Parker's appeal against the fine has been rejected - but she says she still will not pay up.
The mum was on her way to taking her daughter to the hospital when three-year-old Bobbi suffered a seizure. She pulled over to the side of the road, as advised by a 999 call handler. An ambulance was called, and took the pair to hospital - but, while Bobbi was being examined, a paramedic had moved her car, which was blocking the roadside, into a nearby car park.
That car park was at Knowle House Surgery. The GP practice has recently has installed automatic cameras in its car park, with fines being issued for anyone using the car park who is not seeing a doctor.
Despite her plea, Smart Parking, which operates the cameras, refused her appeal, despite the serious circumstances leading up to it. While Bobbi has recovered, Lauren is still furious at the fine.
