A PLYMOUTH restaurant run by a chef who used to cook for U2 and the Spice Girls has been named the best in the city just six months after it opened. The Catch, on the Barbican's Southside Street, topped Tripadvisor's list of the Top Restaurants in Plymouth this week.
The bijou eatery has also been named the best seafood establishment in Plymouth and throughout all of Devon, and has appeared in the overall top 10 restaurants in the county too.
It has delighted chef and business boss Lee Holland, who settled in Plymouth after a jet-setting care as a personal chef to some of the world's top pop acts. He said: "We were really surprised. It was overwhelming and we are really proud. And it is all generated from reviews and algorithms, which show it is genuine."
Mr Holland, originally from London, is a seafood expert, and passionate about sustainability and the oceans. He trained under Rick Stein in Padstow, working for the TV chef for five years.
