Guilty plea after police find cannabis farm in city

A MAN is set to be sentenced next month after he admitted being in charge of what police described as a "sophisticated cannabis operation" in a Roborough business unit.

With the ability to yield three harvests a year from the set-up, police said the potential street value could have been worth over £1 million a year.

Jerry Richard Weeks, who rented the Devonshire Meadows business unit, was charged with producing a Class B drug, cannabis, and being in possession of a class B drug, cannabis, with intent to supply. He initially pleaded not guilty, later changing his plea to guilty to both offences.

Weeks, of Beverston Way, Widewell, has been granted unconditional bail. He will next appear at Plymouth Crown Court on June 1 for sentencing.
