A PLYMOUTH mum who was told her newborn baby had an unsurvivable disease after she gave birth is campaigning for more checks during pregnancy.
Heartbroken parents Lucy Hannaford and Daryl Bennett, whose son Rowan died at three weeks old, want genetic testing to be made part of routine pre-natal screening.
Lucy says there were no signs that anything was wrong with Rowan throughout her pregnancy and there were no indications immediately after birth – but a few hours after his delivery Rowan wouldn’t settle and his lips turned blue.
