A PLYMOUTH family have raised thousands for a much-needed charity helping loved ones bereaved by suicide. Duncan Everard, with the help from his relatives and friends, held a charity football match in tribute to his late brother Brendan to raise money for Pete's Dragons.
The fundraiser, held at Plymstock School and Plymstock Social Club, raised more than £3,600. Duncan chose to host a football fundraiser as he felt it was "a great way to bring people together".
"Every single person I asked said yes," he said. "My vision was to pull a few ex-footballers out of retirement and put us on a football pitch together one more time, as well as friends and family joining in. My main agenda was to raise as much money as possible for the charity, bring people together and to raise awareness. "I felt it ticked all of these boxes."
