BOXING is coming back to Plymouth this summer, with the next professional show announced for the Guildhall in July - including a first for one city family.
Chris and Connor Adaway are both due to feature on the bill at the GB Fight Series 8 on Saturday, July 2, the first time the two have both appeared in the same show.
Chris is now a veteran of 85 professional outings but has been ruled since last June due to a suspected heart murmur.
However, having been given the all-clear, he has now agreed to appear on the July show, alongside his brother Connor a relative newcomer with just three pro bouts under his belt.
Chris has even agreed to box in the away corner in order to secure his place on the summer show and will take on Exeter's Harry Webb in what promises to be a raucous county clash.
But he said the opportunity to be on the same bill as his brother was too good to turn down.
"That's why I wanted to do it," he told The Herald. "To be honest I will struggle to sell tickets, but I had a look at the opponents on the same show as Connor and there was one lad about the same weight as me, only slightly heavier, so I just asked for it and said I will fight in the away corner, even though it's at home.
"My last fight was in June last year, but they heard a heart murmur, so I had to have loads of tests done on my heart.
