A PLYMOUTH woman says it would "mean the world" to her if she could get her father's memorial reinstated after Highways England removed it last week.
The memorial, which was comprised of a T-shirt, some artificial flowers and a squirrel ornament, was removed from a bridge on the A38, near St Budeaux.
The memorial was created by Janice Crawford and her family after they discovered her father had died after an incident beneath the bridge on May 12 this year. After creating the memorial, Highways England contacted Janice to inform her that the tribute would be removed.
A spokesperson for Highways England said it was their policy to "remove all memorials within five days, regardless of the location" They added that they "work closely with Police Family Liaison Officers to ensure that memorials are removed with the family's knowledge and as sympathetically as possible".
