Knocked over and dragged under car door

PC HASN'T RETURNED TO WORK AFTER INCIDENT

A PERSONAL trainer who was driving on the wrong side of the road knocked a police officer over - dragging him under the car's open door.

Martin Ogleby, 46, was banned from the roads when he drove towards the PC, who was on his own while on traffic duty, on Belasis Avenue in Billingham, on November 30 last year. Ogleby flashed his lights at the police officer while driving towards him.

The PC got out of his car and took Ogleby’s keys from him. Teesside Crown Court heard that the defendant, who “towered over the police officer”, got out of his Kia and snatched his car keys back.

The PC then pepper-sprayed the defendant who got back into his vehicle and reversed with the driver’s door still open.
