LOCALS RALLY AROUND CHARITY AFTER HAMMER-WIELDING THUG INCIDENT
A TEESSIDE hospice which was attacked by a masked hammer-wielding thug has thanked the community for rallying in support.
The person smashed the glass front doors of Alice House Hospice, in Hartlepool, before fleeing the grounds.
The incident happened on November 1 at around 9.45pm, shortly after the charity had enjoyed its first successful Halloween fundraising event. Now, the Wells Avenue hospice, which provides vital care for those with a terminal illness and their families, have thanked the community which donated more than £800 in just one day to meet the cost of the repairs.
