Actor Sahil Khan's alleged attempt to evade arrest in connection with the Rs15,000 crore Mahadev betting app case ended on Sunday when he was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, after a long chase.

The crime branch officials said they chased him for 40 hours, 1,800km across five states.

Khan's bail application was rejected by the Bombay High Court on April 25 (Friday). He wanted to challenge the rejection in the Supreme Court, but feared arrest owing to a weekend. Officials said he called his driver and left Mumbai in his car. They said he continuously changed his location to evade arrest, often switching off his phone.
