'Modi govt delayed polling to deprive MVA of votes'

Uddhav Thackeray alleged that the tactic was meant to discourage voters; he appealed to the people not to budge and stay put at booths till morning if needed

As the high-stakes poll battle unfolded in Mumbai on Monday, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray levelled serious allegations that there was "deliberate" delay in many voting booths across the city at the behest of "Modi government". He asserted that the tactic was meant to discourage voters as the government had realised that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was bagging a lot of votes, he said at an impromptu press meet. He asked the citizens to lodge their complaints at the nearest 'shakha' of his party if they witnessed such 'delay'.
