ANOTHER PRESTIGE FIGHT FOR PAWARS
The Free Press Journal|May 13, 2024
Another prime battle is on the cards in Shirur, where sitting MP Amol Kolhe of the NCP (Sharad Pawar) is pitted against Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, who is a nominee of the NCP led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

After Baramati, Shirur has become a sticking point between uncle and nephew with Ajit Pawar publicly stating that he wants to ensure the defeat of actor-turned politician Kolhe.

Both candidates had confronted each other in 2019 too when Kolhe, then candidate of undivided NCP, defeated

Adhalrao who contested on undivided Shiv Sena ticket.

The constituency comprising rural and urban areas with three maSHIRUR jor Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporations (MIDC) Chakan, Ranjangaon and Bhosari houses major automobile and electronic companies.
