Omission of childrens films in awards raises eyebrows

The absence of child artists in the list of awardees in the Kerala State Film Awards has triggered a storm, with children's film makers complaining of neglect of such a vital segment of cinema.
No awards were declared in the Best Children’s Film and Best Child Artist categories, after the jury determined that none of the submissions met the required creative standard.
Four children’s films were reportedly submitted and two advanced to the final round, yet the panel led by actor-filmmaker Prakash Raj concluded that no entry was worthy of the award.
