Cong Pushes Kerala Party Plan For Anwar Entry

Congress leadership has urged P V Anwar to establish a new political outfit in Kerala as a precondition for any potential alignment with the United Democratic Front, amid resistance from key constituents within the alliance.

- HD Bureau

The proposal to create a Kerala-based party, should Anwar seek entry into the UDF fold, is expected to be formally tabled at a high-level meeting scheduled on Tuesday.

The development marks a critical juncture in Anwar's political trajectory, which has seen multiple realignments over the past few years.

Discussions within the UDF are increasingly shaped by concerns from coalition partners wary of Anwar's track record. Some parties have expressed apprehension that inducting him directly into the alliance could create complications down the line.

A growing segment within the UDF believes that limiting engagement with Anwar to electoral cooperation—without formal inclusion—would be more prudent. This cautious stance has gained traction following his shifts across party lines, with doubts mounting about the stability he would bring into the coalition.
