NHS workers forced to pay millions in penalties

FURIOUS nurses are demanding action after it emerged medical staff are being fined millions for parking while they're at work.

More than 25,000 fines were doled out to health service workers at 17 NHS trusts in 2024, data shows.

With the average fine in the region of £60, that adds up to £1.5million, but the true figure is likely to be much higher.

Patricia Marquis, executive director of the Royal College of Nursing said: “It really shocking to see the scale of it across only 17 trusts - imagine what that looks like when you multiply it by the 200-plus trusts there are in England.
