Screen insiders look to focus film and TV attention on area with new project

TORRIDGE is ready for its close-up as a star of the silver screen, thanks to a new initiative that aims to transform the district into a hotspot for film and TV productions.

The council has teamed up with industry insiders to ensure the area gets more than just a supporting role in future features.

Torridge District Council, in partnership with Screen Devon and North Devon Council, launched its ‘Filming in Torridge’ project last month, at The Royal Hotel in Bideford.

The event welcomed figures from across the film and television industry, councillors and property owners, all gathered to explore ways to boost the region's appeal to production crews. The initiative includes plans for a new locations directory aimed at showcasing Torridge and North Devon's cinematic potential.
