Car show dubbed 'one of the best' raises £20k funds

SUPERMODEL and racing enthusiast Jodie Kidd has described the Lyn Valley Classic as "one of the best car shows in the world" during her return to the Devon motoring spectacle.

The former racing driver, attending for the second consecutive year, was joined once again by friend and fashion designer Alice Temperley MBE. The pair were part of the thousands who descended on Lynton and Lynmouth to admire more than 400 cars ranging from Ferraris and McLarens to vintage Fiats and Lotuses.

The town of Lynton was transformed with about 100 supercars lining its streets, while Lynmouth's Manor Green displayed 300 vintage, tuned and sports vehicles as part of the 11th Lyn Valley Classic.

Visitors were treated to trade stalls, entertainment, and side-shows. Local adventurer Derek Hernaman also drew attention with his vintage Land Rover and caravan nicknamed George and Mildred which he drove 4,000 miles around the British Isles.
