Award-winning market welcomes new traders as it joins national campaign

SOUTH Molton's historic pannier market has stepped into the national spotlight as it joined the Love Your Local Market 2025 campaign, showcasing a wave of new traders and community-driven initiatives that are reshaping the space.

The campaign at the end of May was supported by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) and highlighted the role of markets in community life across the UK.

With more than 50 stalls open every Thursday and Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm, the covered market, which has served South Molton since the 19th century, is seeing a renewed sense of energy and purpose. From artisan crafts and vintage wares to fresh local produce, the market continues to evolve while retaining its traditional charm.

Among the new faces drawing attention is 13-year-old Archie of A.A. Home and Garden. His plant stall has become a hit with shoppers, making him a standout example of young entrepreneurship in the local area.
