NBI parallel probe on Bucol murder set

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will conduct a parallel investigation on the killing of a village chief in Digos City, Davao del Sur province this week, lawyer Israelito Torreon said Friday.
"I just got confirmation that the NBI Director will issue an order within the day that it will conduct its own parallel investigation visa-vis the killing of Tres de Mayo, Digos City Barangay Captain Dodong Bucol and possibly lead the multi-agency crime investigation per our request to the authorities," Torreon announced in his Facebook account.
Torreon, one of the legal counsels of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP)-Laban, wrote a letter to NBI officer-in-charge Angelito Magno on Nov. 26 requesting them to conduct a parallel investigation on the killing of Barangay Tres de Mayo Chairman Oscar Bucol Jr. on Tuesday night, Nov. 25.
Bucol, a member of the PDP-Laban, was shot while live streaming in his Facebook page. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead from a bullet wound in the chest.
