TWO men have appeared in court charged with murder after human remains were discovered in multiple locations across Greater Manchester.
Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski, 68, and Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, appeared in the dock at Tameside magistrates court yesterday afternoon.
They wore grey tracksuits as they were read the charge of murder via Polish interpreters.
The men, both of Worsley Road, Eccles, spoke only to confirm their names and dates of birth.
“You are both before this court,” legal adviser Mr Hussain told the defendants. “There is an allegation of murder. This allegation is that between March 25, 2024, and April 2, 2024, you murdered a person unknown. This is contrary to common law.”
Prosecuting, Gareth Hughes told magistrates that Mr Polchowski and Mr Majerkiewicz’s case must go to the Crown Court. He added that both will remain in custody.
Addressing the defendants, chair of the bench Trevor Hulmes said: “You will both remain in custody and be produced at Crown Court at 9.30 tomorrow.”
Mr Polchowski and Mr Majerkiewicz will appear at Manchester Crown Court today.
They were both remanded into custody.
