TD blasts Russian Ambassador for making 'chilling threats' to Ireland

RUSSIA'S Ambassador should be booted out of Ireland for making "chilling" war threats, a TD said yesterday.

Yury Filatov's embassy said we would find ourselves "a direct participant in the conflict" after Irishman Finbar Cafferkey died fighting in Ukraine.

But Charlie Flanagan blasted: "These hostile remarks are unacceptable. Beyond time Ambassador Filatov and his crew were asked to leave our country."

THE Russian Ambassador should "butt out" of Irish affairs and apologise to the bereaved family of the activist who died fighting in Ukraine, a leading TD claimed yesterday.

People Before Profit Deputy Brid Smith demanded that Russian Ambassador Yury Filatov say sorry for the hurt he's caused to the family of Finbar Cafferkey.
