The extraordinary claim emerged at the sentencing hearing of his girlfriend and mother of his two children Hannah O'Connor, where judges heard a Revolut account in her name was used by the Drogheda feud gang boss as he lived life on the run overseas.

Gardai told Dundalk Circuit Court they were satisfied Boylan, 30, of Moneymore in Drogheda, controlled the account and used it to fund his lifestyle while travelling through Mexico, Turkey, Dubai and Serbia.

He was named in court last year by a Garda witness in a money laundering case as head of a violent gang involved in drug dealing and the Drogheda feud.
