Ukraine fury after Russians kill baby in blitz on maternity unit

RUSSIAN commanders pounded Ukraine’s cities with waves of devastating airstrikes yesterday claiming 10 lives, including that of a two day-old baby. 

As many as 75 missiles were fired into Ukraine, 31 of them at the capital Kyiv, where a 17-yearold was among three killed.

Overnight, Moscow targeted the neonatal unit at a hospital in Vilniansk, close to Zaporizhzhia, killing the newborn child. The mother and a doctor were rescued.

Regional governor Oleksandr Starukh stormed: “At night, Russian monsters launched huge rockets at the small maternity ward of the hospital in Vilniansk.

“Grief overwhelms our hearts – a baby was killed who had just seen the light of day.”

Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelensky said the hit caused “horrible pain” and vowed: “We’ll never forget and never forgive.”

Moscow’s troops targeted cities nationwide, again hitting Lviv in the far west of the country.
