Housing expert Rory:I was abused as a teen

Academic tells of grooming ordeal suffered by himself and other boys

ONE of the country’s leading housing experts has revealed he was sexually abused as a teenager.

Dr Rory Hearne, assistant professor in social policy at Maynooth University, said he was part of a group who were groomed when he was 13 or 14.

The lecturer and author of Gaffs: Why No One Can Get a House, and What We Can Do About It, said the perpetrator was convicted and sentenced a number of years ago.
