A fun event to raise much-needed funds for worthy causes

HOST OF LOCAL NAMES IN FUNDRAISING SHOW

ET for tomorrow night, The Willows Sports and Social Club in Holderness Road, east Hull, is holding its yearly President's Presentation and fundraising night, which is held in aid of Hornsea Inshore Rescue Service and the charity Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Tomorrow's event is organised by concert secretary Cliff Griffiths, who holds the night in memory of his brother-in-law Bernard Monk who died of pulmonary fibrosis.

Cliff said: “The charity was in desperate needs of funds so along with the committee we decided to put on a fundraising night.

“The club also owns a boat called Neptune 3 based at Bridlington, but we decided that as the Hornsea Inshore Rescue Service depend totally on donations we would give them our support”.

The annual event is now in its 12th year and over time it has raised more than £30,000.

To make the evening a little different the night will see a host of local names take part in a special ‘Tribute to the Stars’ Show.
