The maximum temperature in the Capital on Saturday took a sharp turn and soared at 24 degrees Celsius (°C) - two degrees above normal and four degrees above Friday's 20.6°C - the India Meteorological Department said.
Max temp soars to 24°C, AQI better
Saturday was also the warmest day in January so far. The second warmest day before this was January 14 at 20.6°C.
The balmy weather also made room for bad air to improve remarkably to clock a 24-hour average air quality index of 357 (very poor) at 4pm, only a day after the "severe" reading of 409 at the same time, according to the Central Pollution Control Board's national bulletin. This further improved to 350 (very poor) by 5pm on Saturday.
