As the university announced its first-ever integrated law degree, aspirants reveal why it has become difficult to get through
Delhi University (DU) recently announced a new five-year integrated law degree. The Bar Council of India has authorised 120 seats 60 for BA LLB (Hons) and 60 for BBA LLB (Hons). On August 4, the varsity said they would consider the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) instead of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admissions. This decision prompted a student of DU's Law Faculty, Prince Singh, to file a PIL asking the university to consider CUET scores for admission. The matter is being heard at the Delhi High Court (HC), and until the decision is made on August 25, DU has stated that it will not invite any applications for admissions. This has left law school aspirants in a lurch. Some of them talk to us about the challenges and dilemmas about their future.
