Car rams pedestrians at Old Rajendra Nagar, 6 hurt

Six people were injured after a rashly driven car rammed into them on a busy street in Old Rajendra Nagar on Tuesday evening, police said, adding that they suspect that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

According to police, the accident took place at around 6pm on Bada Bazaar Road. They said the driver, identified as Prem Kumar, works as a chauffeur and was driving his employer's Hyundai i10 car. Investigators said he has been detained, and his blood samples have been sent to the laboratory to check if he was drunk when the accident took place.
Five of the people rammed by the car only received minor injuries, and were discharged after primary treatment. However, the sixth person's injuries were more serious, requiring hospitalization, said police.
