Israeli clash with militant Hezbollah 'could be worse than Gaza war'

AN escalation in fighting between Israel and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah could be a “much more serious situation” than the war in Gaza, a Cabinet minister warned today.
Twelve teenagers and children were killed when a rocket fired from Lebanon hit a football field in the Israeli- occupied Golan Heights on Saturday, with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu warning that Hezbollah “will pay a heavy price”.
Asked about the possibility for escalation in the conflict, Cabinet Office minister Pat McFadden told Sky News this morning: “I think this is very serious. Since October 7 last year, we have all been focused on the situation in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
