Boffins have discovered a goldfish’s memory can last for five months

1. It’s a myth that they have a three-second memory – scientists discovered it’s more like five months after a goldfish was trained to come at the sound of a dinner bell.

2. Spawning goldfish can be hostile – the males have breeding stars on their gills and front fins and can chase the females during a full moon, after a large water swap and weather changes.

3. They’re not much of a support to a mate when one is sick – the others will peck it rather than try to help.
